چکیده
Aims: This study was aimed at determining the ecological health of two roadside streams across Tiko-Douala highway, Cameroon, and investigating phytoremediation potentials dominant aquatic macrophytes within these streams.
Study Design: Water, sediments, plant samples were collected from Camp 7 Moqouo streams, analyzed for ammonium nitrogen, nitrate phosphates, magnesium, cadmium, lead, including other relevant water quality parameters.
Place Duration Study: In Life Science Laboratory University Buea, Soil Water Dschang, Cameroon between June 2021 2022.
Methodology: Six six sediment per stream, most species (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach (Poaceae) Dicanthelium clandestinum L. 7, Commelina benghalensis (Commelinaceae) Oldenlandia corymbosa L.(Rubiaceae) stream) heavy metal analysis. Heavy concentration bioaccumulation factors determined each plant.

Results: High concentrations phosphates recorded in (1.19 mg/L) (2.17 streams. Dissolved oxygen levels 0.69 mg/L 0.80 respectively. Sediment cadmium ranged 0.33± 0.02 to 0.63± 0.16 mg/kg, lead 0.34 ±0.03 0.37 ± 0.12 mg/kg Conclusion: The Mouqouo are rich thus not suitable drinking irrigation. Cadmium stream permissible limits but sediments contained higher than therefore they could be released gradually into column. All plants except (Dicanthelium cladestinum) accumulated potential metals.

متن کاملReview of Heavy Metal Accumulation in Aquatic Environment of Northern East Mediterrenean Sea Part II: Some Non-Essential Metals
Heavy metals that enter marine environment and remain in the water as well as the sediments are accumulated by aquatic organisms, thus becoming highly good indicators to monitor metal accumulation in the long run. Metals are potentially harmful to humans and most organisms at varied levels of exposure and absorption. Northern East Mediterranean Sea is a crucial region as it is an area, shared b...

متن کاملHealth risk assessment of heavy metals in roadside soil along the Hemmat Highway of Tehran, Iran, in 2014
Background: The present study investigated the impact of land use on health risks (cancerous and non-cancerous) of heavy metals in soil along the Hemmat Highway of Tehran, Iran. Materials and Methods: A total of 28 soil samples were collected in August 2014 from the roadside soil of the Hemmat Highway. The collected samples were air-dried and digested, and then, analyzed for heavy metals usi...
